It's About Time

February 11th, 2009

With the constant greenwashing of products these days, it can be hard to tell what's what on the cleaning aisle. This is no easy task. I need products that are not tested on animals, contain no animal products or by-products, are environmentally friendly without negative effects on wildlife, rivers, streams or plants, kind to those of us sensitive to chemicals and frangrances, ozone safe, biodegradable...My list goes on and on. Oh, did I mention it has to clean well too?

Well I'm happy to report that I have finally found my cleaner! It meets all of my criteria and more. This stuff is the bomb digity baby! At least in the world of eco-friendly cleaners. I'm talking about the All Purpose Cleaner from Biokleen. I've been testing it out for the past couple of months, and man my kitchen is sparkling clean. We're talking granite and butcherblock counters, painted cabinets, stainless steel and so much more. Honestly, this stuff is amazing.

After all the test cleaning, I realized that my bottle was just about empty. It was time to buy another one. So I skipped on over to Whole Foods, to see about getting some more. Although I was prepared to purchase another spray bottle of the All Purpose Cleaner, I noticed that I could instead purchase a bottle of it in super concentrated form. Amazingly, this 32 oz bottle of concentrate makes 32 gallons of cleaner... That means that if I did my math correctly, this bottle of concentrate will refill my 1 quart spray bottle 128 times... for $7.00. Score!

I'll be sure to test out some of the other products from Biokleen, now that I've seen how well their All Purpose Cleaner works. Until then, this cookbook author can be happily found cleaning up her kitchen spills and splatters after long days of recipe testing. Who knew that cleaning could be so much fun?
