It's About Time

With the constant greenwashing of products these days, it can be hard to tell what's what on the cleaning aisle. This is no easy task. I need products that are not tested on animals, contain no animal products or by-products, are environmentally friendly without negative effects on wildlife, rivers, streams or plants, kind to those of us sensitive to chemicals and frangrances, ozone safe, biodegradable...My list goes on and on. Oh, did I mention it has to clean well too?

Better Than Coffee

A couple months ago, I was walking around New Season's Market in Portland, Oregon, looking for a caffinated beverage to wake me up, and came across a cool new product. It's called Phix, and comes in these cool looking sticks/tubes which you simply mix with water. Unlike other energy drinks, the pick-me-up comes from Yerba Mate and Green Tea extract, which gives you a very gentle and sustained energy boost, without spikes or crashes. Vegan meringue cookie mix! Need I say more? This awesome product is from Angel Food in New Zealand. Not to worry, it can be found online, as well as in many specialty shops in the states, including Food Fight grocery. Now you can have baked vegan meringue cookies, hot from your own oven.

Some Amazing Ice Cream

Purely Decadent (Turtle Mountain) has released some new ice cream flavors in their coconut milk line, that are out-of-this-world good! If you are an ice cream lover, you've got to try this stuff! I tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Passionate Mango and Mocha Almond Fudge, and I'm hooked. So are my husband and kids and a few of their friends. You've got to give it a try!

Lunch Box

A few months back, I had an opportunity to test out a fun new lunchbox. I was really taken with the cool design of the box, which can un-snap completely flat, is washable, and has all kinds of fun little containers (which are also BPA free). It comes in an assortment of bright colors too. Although my kids are in high school and past that lunch box age, my daughter has been loving it, packing up all kinds of fun lunches to share with her friends. Organic Energy Bars

Recently I had the opportunity to taste test Bumble Bars, a fantastic line of organic energy bars. They're delicious, healthy, vegan, gluten-free and come in 12 flavors (like Lushus Lemon, Hazelnut and Cherry Chocolate)! I'm hooked! They're great to tuck into a bag for hungry kids or afternoon energy dips. Now, if you'll excuse me while I go grab a Chai Almond bar to enjoy with my cup of tea...
